Activity one: the first settlers

Hello everyone it has been a long since I have made a post so here is one. This is one a post from the summer learning journey so thank you to you  guys for setting this up it is a great thing to do so children can keep their learning up and a fun way to do it.

For this activity I am going to tell you three facts about maui:

.Maui's brothers always made up and excuse so he could not go fishing with them.

Last week we had a kapa haka festival at the aurora center at burnside. We got ready at home and meet Miss Waho at the place and went in together. We got ready in our dressing room and ready to perform. It was time,we lined up and got ready to go on stage. Then we did our amazing perfomance.

Hey guys, today I am posting about values. So at the moment I am proud of Netball.The thing that I am about Netball is getting player of the day and getting better and better. 

What it means:
Pride in achievement means that you are proud when you achieve something. Say if you were playing rugby and you scored a try and your grandparents are proud of you you have achieve your goal.

The move to the new hub

The Move

Hey guys, I am back with another post, I haven't posted about the move so this post is about the move and day one.

So for the past week we have been taking artwork off the walls and all the other stuff, we have also been packing boxes. What I did was I packed all the art stuff from the cupboard under the sinks.

Day one:

We are in the permanently now and i am so happy and I love it. At the moment we all are doing blogging in a collaborative space.

Dear heart earring

I have read your letter and I get it I was not being responsible but wasnt me who fell out of my ear was it, and yes I was having fun but when I went home i was devastated. I went to pioneer the other day and I couldn't find you. I know you are sad but there is no such thing as step twins. He did leave you a week ago and you were not even here 1 year, 4 months 14 weeks, 16 days 94 hours and 24 seconds ago  just saying . You have to stay in that box because other wise i will lose you and i don’t want that to happen. I have to keep those purple things in my ears because otherwise my ears will close up and  they do suit me thankyou.Yes you did suit me but you still do. I will tell purple earring to stop being mean.

Yesterday Gilberthorpe school went to timbernook for a school trip. There was lots of activites to do like make huts, play with clay, make bow and arrows and other things. The thing that I did first was played on the stilts with Jasmine then we made a hut with Cayleigh, Toby, Jasmine, Aryan was or maid Gemeve was our helper and me and after awhile  we did other stuff. here are some photos of our fun:

Water Lifecycle

Hey guys, I am back with another blog post about writing instructions. Here is my writing.

The water Cycle Experiment

All you need for this experiment is:

1. A small bowl

2. A large bowl

3. Salt

4. Weight

5. Boiling water

6. Glad wrap

Step 1. First you  get your large bowl.

Step 2. Put 2- 3 cm deep of water in the bowl.

Step 3. Put your small bowl inside the big bowl.

Step 4. Add salt to the water.

Step 5. Put some glad wrap over top of the large bowl.

Step 6. Put the weight on top of the glad wrap in the middle of the bowl.

Step 7. Wait a good 30 minutes

Step 8. Observe the results

The water evaporates

Drops of water that are on the glad wrap fall down into the little bowl.

hey guys, today I am going to share my story with you that I have been working on the last week.

If you like games on the play , read ahead. All you need for this game is a ball, a playground and 3+ players. This game is pretty simple. Keep reading to learn how to play.

Step 1. Choose a tagger. The other players run away onto the playground and the tagger has to stay on the ground.

Step 2. They tagger has to run around on the ground while the other players on the play ground try not to get tagged by the ball.

Step 3. When someone is tagged they have to go on the ground and get the ball off the tagger and that goes on all over again.

You can’t win this game because it never ends.

Port hills Fire recount

Today I am going to share my port hills fire. The purpose of my writing is to entertain you.

This is it a couple of days ago and when the fire is in action.

When I first got home I looked out the front window and all i could see is grey clouds of smoke. My heart raced. My mum and dad were talking about it being near Haswell. My aunty lived in haswell.

I went outside to hang the togs out. The sky above me whipped with the sounds of helicopters.I was wondering what caused it.

i went to bed that night and  all I could think of was “is it coming closer to us?” But when i woke up in the morning and looked out my window, thankfully, it wasn't close.  I felt terrible  for all those people who lived there and glad that none of our family was involved.

I got ready for school fairly quickly hoping that when I got  to school It wouldn't  be near there. After lunch I went Inside and could smell the grey and dusty smoke. Jorja And ashrita, Jas and I went outside and could smell lots of smoke.  I was hoping that everyone could breath.

today there is still coal around. I am so glad that it is out and I feel so sorry for those who live there.

I think i need to work on my 6, 7, and 8, and i think i have mastered my 9s.

What I Am Looking Forward To In 2017!

2017, 32 days gone spending time with family and friends. Now it is time to get back into the real stuff, school tomorrow, a long 6 weeks off and back into it all. I am looking forward to my birthday this week, turning ten and my big ten disco party that I have been dreaming of since I was 5. Also camp and my uncle and aunties wedding in march. Most of all spending time with friends and family, and having an amazing teacher! 2017 is going to be great!

Today we went to this kite festival where professionals fly kites, there were all different types, my favorite was the pink flying pig which you can see in my photo slide. The beach was so busy i can't even put into words,it was mad, there were people everywhere and so many cool kites. After we were done at the beach we went to the roxy and dc shop,my favourite shops.We had a look there  was nothing we liked so we left. Our next destination was Grandma and Grandads. We went there for a while mum and i got eaten alive from the mosquitos,so time for us to leave,jump into the car and we didnt want to go home as yet so off to the park we went. We all had a turn on the flying fox ,even mum and dad now that was cool..Looked at my watch was thinking it must be tea time as i was so hungry.Takeaways for tea and home for a movie.

On a nice and sunny morning we got up and got ready. After we were ready we went and played out side, well I stayed inside and helped tidy up so we could go. At first we were going to go to the beach but we changed our mind and decided to go to Jellie park. Before we could leave we had to pack a bag with food and all of that stuff. Then we were ready so mum made us some lunch to take in the car. When we got to Jellie park we paid and went and had some fun. Mum even went swimming and she dosen't normal. but first we had to find a table to put all of our stuff on then we went in the pool. After about 2 hours in the pool we got out and had some snacks, then hopped back into the pool. After awhile it was 4 o'clock so we got out and went home. On the way home we got a snack boxes from KFC, but the don't fill me up so dad made we a salad. That was our day of fun here are some pictures.

On a very hot morning we got up early and got ready for Boston and Hunter to come over. Then finally they arrived so we started to do some baking. We made cookies and lollie cake balls. Issy, Boston and Toby helped mum make the cookies while Jas and I crushed up all the malt biscuits. While they were cooking we went on the slip and slide for a while. After all that fun we had lunch, it was yummy,and we got to try the cookies, they were good too. It was a fun day,here are some photos.

the fun family day out

On a very hot sunday morning myself and my family left at 9 am and headed to sumner beach. When we got to the beautiful beach we struggled to get a park, but we finally found one in the end. the beach  was as packed as the mall on boxing day, well maybe not that packed but it was still pretty packed. We got all the buckets and spades out of the boot and headed down to the beach. as we headed down to the beach dad pulled isabella on a boogie board. then found a place on the beach that we liked, so we put all of the buckets and spades down and started to have fun. the first thing I did was went boogie boarding in the water  it was so fun and I was pretty good at it even though I hadn't done it before. I went back to our place and mum had decided that we would move to the next part of the beach which was on the other side of the cave, so we had to walk through the cave to get there, so off we went. we walked through the cave and took some photos then went on walking. ,when we got to the other side we were looking for a place to sit then we found the perfect place to sit, then we started to build a sandcastle and play in the sand. while we were doing that toby was collecting shells, he got a whole bag full. After a wee while it started getting windy,so we went to the rainbow pool for a bit. while we were in there dad walk back to the car and drove it to us so we didn't have to walk that far again. our next destination was countdown, to get some stuff that we would like for lunch. but then we had to find a place to eat it, mum and dad decided that we would go to the river, we went to the willows. We bring the boogie boards and rode them down the current. then we realized what the time was and we dident have lunch, so we went home and dinner/lunch.

It was a nice but windy day. We were going to go the the Museum, but mum changed her mind and thought that we would go to Rolleston pool. When Boston and Hunter arrived we were half ready Debbie arrived so we finished getting ready. Then mum thought that Addy could come so mum text Rebecca and she said yes. After about 1hour Rebecca  arrived so off we went following her to rolleston pool. When we arrived we went in a went to get changed. Once everyone was in there togs we headed to the pool and started to have some fun. we were allowed to go in the spa and the other pools. We were in the pool for about 2 hours until mum realized that it was 12.00 so we went and got dressed and headed to the park to have lunch. We had some of this and some of that. We brang our scooters so we could go up and down the ramps. Then we saw some road signs but it wasn't a road can you guess what it was for yes scooters and bikes. We played there for a wee bit and then went home. What a fun day, here are some photos.

funday sunday

We woke up early this morning and got ready to go to the market. We each got some money to spend that we earnt and got for christmas. I got a canvas and a book from the market,Olivia Isabella and Toby went on the bouncy castle. After a we while on the bouncy castle we went and got some lunch, we had Sushi, it was good. Then we went home and played outside we rode our bikes and shooted some hoops. Mum and dad cleaned out the garage. It was a great day.Now the count down is on ,just over 12hours and my betie will be here and it gets better she is staying for a week.

It was a great christmas

christmas is about spending time with family and friends, we have a family tradition where we go to my aunt's house for breakfast. But on christmas eve Debbie comes over to give us presents and we also give her here presents.

New years

New year's eve and day

It is 2017 everyone! What a year it is going to be. My 2017 started off on new years eve we decided that we were going to camp out in the backyard and have some fun with my family. It starts off with dad cooking the pitas on the barbecue so we could have souvlaki for tea which were the best,and we roasted marshmallows on the charcoal barbeque which was a mission, we ate a bit too much junk food, and we also had a blast playing outside, mum cranked out the glow sticks while the little kids were being little rat bags, we didn't end up sleeping in the tent cause the little ones would not listen so we sleeped inside, the kids finally went to bed and I got to stay up and do the Countdown to 2017,yay it is 2017, then I had to get my stuff from out of the tent we saw lots of Fireworks it was incredible, but after all of that fun I was so tired I crashed.  I know I had a blast but I also hope  you did.
